This exhibition brings together the techniques and expressions of the next generation of Japanese-style paintings, which are rooted in tradition, but whose individuality cannot be contained within the framework of tradition. Please look forward to a feast of Japanese painting by six young artists.
The season of the annual year-end “Mignon Exhibition” has arrived. This year, we will again display more than 400 masterpieces by both domestic and foreign deceased masters as well as promising newcomers, all of which are under size 4 (33.4 cm on the longest side). We are sure that you will be able to find a treasure that is unique to you. We sincerely look forward to your visit.
I have used color to represent this season of cold and gorgeous weather.

Ayaka Tadano was a teenager full of ambition and dreams when a massive earthquake and tsunami waves brought destruction to her home prefecture of Miyagi on March 11, 2011.
That dark day lives on in so many memories—and in the artwork of Tadano.
“Even though the world around me had been cleared by the earthquake, there were moments of beauty in the scenery,” explains the 29-year-old, who earned a master’s degree in art and education from Tokyo University of the Arts.
Using mineral pigments and silver leaf on Japanese washi paper, the Iwanuma-based artist says she paints landscapes that convey hope amid change and loss.
Tadano’s exhibition, which runs through August 29, is part of the Frederick Harris Gallery’s second summer of shows by emerging artists.
I will be exhibiting my work at the Nichido Gallery’s Summer Association Exhibition. This is the first time for me to participate in this exhibition, which will be held for the 16th time this year. This year marks the 16th “Summer Association Exhibition,” which has become an annual event of this season. We have had many artists participate in the exhibition, rather than having a fixed number of members. This year’s exhibition features four new works by each of the 19 artists, most of whom are Showa-kai award-winning artists. The subject matter and techniques vary widely. Please come and see the fruits of the artists’ studies. We look forward to seeing you at the gallery.

I will participate in the 25th anniversary exhibition of Bansui Gallery in Aoba-ku, Sendai. As one of the artists associated with the gallery, I will exhibit and sell one of our works for 25,000 yen.
I look forward to seeing you there.
